Aquatic Farms Map Series
Abstract:
The Alaska Department of Natural Resources (ADNR), under agreement with the Alaska Department
of Environmental Conservation (ADEC), produced a series of aquatic farms maps for the Contingency
Planning (C-plan) Subareas, where they exist. This includes SE Alaska, Prince William Sound,
Cook Inlet, and Kodiak Island subareas.

ESI Map Series
Abstract:
The Environmental Sensitivity Index (ESI) map series is done on a
region by region basis. NOAA is the lead agency for compiling this map
series. Scale can vary from 1:63,360 to 1:250,000. Areas not provided here
in electronic form may have hardcopy maps available.

GRS Maps
Abstract:
This document contains Geographic Response Strategies (GRS) and is
designed to be a supplement to the Subarea Contingency Plans for
Oil and Hazardous Substances Spills and Releases, commonly referred to as SCPs.
The purpose of this document is to provide response strategies for the protection of
selected sensitive areas to aid first responders to an oil spill. This
document serves as the federal and state on-scene coordinators' " orders "
during an oil spill impacting the location covered by this GRS.

MESA Maps
Abstract:
The Alaska Department of Fish and Game identified 68 of the most
environmentally sensitive areas (MESA) along the coastline of Alaska that
could be impacted by a marine oil spill. This sensitive area information
was developed to assist noncrude oil barge operators in identifying
protection strategies required in state oil spill prevention and contingency
plans. The maps depict concentration areas of key fish and wildlife species
potentially affected by oil, at varying scales from 1:63,360 to 1:658,567.

The Alaska Natural Heritage Program has identified rare plant
locations. This map series provides a general regional view of the known
locations as of the year 2000.

Public Access Atlas
Abstract:
These atlases were not specifically designed for contingency planning
purposes, but are a very helpful resource. DNR, Division of Mining, Land
and Water publish these access atlases for DNR's area planning. They
contain more detailed information on land ownership, access routes,
landing strips, docks, boat launches, anchorages, mooring buoys and more.

Seabird Colonies Map Series
Abstract:
The Beringian Seabird Colony Catalog is maintained by the U.S. Fish and
Wildlife Service, Division of Migratory Bird Management, Marine and
Coastal Bird Project, 1011 E. Tudor Rd., Anchorage, Alaska 99503. This map
series used this database. Note: Broad areas where there are no colonies
indicates regions that have not been surveyed yet.

State Status Plats
Abstract:
The Alaska Department of Natural Resource status plats are available on-line for viewing.
The township status plat is the graphic record of the current ownership and use of the land
and resources in each township administered by the State of Alaska, and is the graphic index of
approved state surveys and federal surveys necessary to reflect state title or interest.
At the parcel level, the status plats depict all activity and land use designations on state
interest lands. This includes: state title, land classifications state parks, state wildlife
refuges, state forests, surveys, municipal lands, oil and gas leases, mining claims and other
land or tideland disposal activity such as, sales, leases and permits. In addition, access to
the Land Administration System (LAS) is available to research casefile information found on the status plat.
